BISEPS expert meeting on electricity sharing was a success!

10 Jan

On 14th December 2017 we organised a BISEPS cross border task force on the topic of electricity sharing among companies. Electricity sharing is an important element of the BISEPS approach towards the creation of energy synergies in business clusters, but there is still a lot of uncertainty about the do’s and don’ts for electricity sharing in the different Interreg 2 Seas countries (France, the UK, the Netherlands and Belgium).

The meeting in GreenBridge, Ostend (Belgium) was a great success with 30 experts, from the four countries, present. After the interesting presentations, we had a long and fruitfull debate on the topic. The ideas from this debate will be used to formulate policy recommendations on electricity sharing among companies.

The presentations aimed to provide clarification on the legal frameworks in the different ) concerning electricity sharing. To support the discussion two different tools, among which the BISEPS tool, was presented.
